• Base Operator Telephony Course

Introduction

This EFO BRT Course gives the learners the ability to use a handheld radio for the use of relaying flight safety and legal required information.

In accordance with ICASA and SACAA requirements, the requirements as stipulated by SA-AIC 20-13, EFO provides theory training, followed by examination and practical training, followed by practical testing.

Candidates will understand and apply aviation regulation, Phonetic Alphabet and standard procedures required in communication.

Course overview

The course is conducted over 1 day which includes all requirements. Students will be introduced to basic radio principles and operation. Phonetic Alphabet as required in Aviation is discussed and practiced to a satisfactory standard, where practical examples and practice allows for practical knowledge.

Course outcome

Aviation Industry

This course is ideal for ground staff agents, ramp controllers and flight operations ground personnel. Each successful candidate will receive a certificate of completion which is valid for 24 months, which then requires refresher training to validate updates and applications.
